On August 12th 2020 Argentina’s regulatory body, ENACOM, officially released Resolution No. 854/2020, which introduces changes to the labeling requirements of former CNC Resolution 82/2015.
The changes were made to reflect the RAMATEL name, which is the formal name of ENACOM’s approval registry.
While the new regulation is effective immediately, ENACOM has granted a two (2) year period for manufacturers to implement the new labeling on all new products.
For renewals and previously approved products, updating to the new label design is voluntary. These products can keep the original labeling design used during their original ENACOM approval.
An exception from labeling directly on the product may be granted in cases where:
- Construction, size and/or packaging of the products make it difficult to label
- The product will be installed inside a vehicle, allowing the marking to be printed within the onboard vehicle user manuals.
