Updates from IFETEL under Third Transitory of the Modification to the PEC IFT

IFETEL is now accepting the “Certificado Unico” which combines the IFETEL testing certificates (NOM-208, NOM-221, SAR, etc. – normally acquired individually) into one comprehensive certificate.

Mexico Certification Bodies are no longer issuing the older type of testing certificates and will only be issuing the “Unico” certificates which will be used to apply for IFETEL approval and certification.

Testing will continue as normal, each test under the specific IFETEL telecom norm, however the tests reports will be combined to generate one certificate.

There is no impact on importation to Mexico, the Certificado Unico will now be used in lieu of the individual NOM-208 and NOM-221 certs.

NOM Safety certificates will still be issued as normal.
