On December 27, 2021 Diario Oficial de Mexico published new updates being implemented with IFETEL.
Mexico has wanted to see certificates with the name of the importer as legal rep since February of last year, however this is getting pulled back with the modifications to the Conformity Assessment Procedure in matters of Telecommunications and Broadcasting. We can again provide neutral 3rd party legal rep with any importer or distributor utilizing the certificate for importation of products to Mexico.
If you don’t have a local Mexico office, we can provide certificate holder service (legal rep) to accommodate the certification process. These changes will also allow us to list the importers/distributors on the IFETEL, NOM-208, and NOM-221 certificates.
Sample requirements for in-country testing have also been reduced.
Please contact us for more information on these upcoming changes to the IFETEL certification process.
