The telecommunication regulator SUBTEL (Subsecretaria de Telecomunicaciones) has provided us with clarification on requirements regarding model names and modular approval in Chile.

The model of the equipment submitted for approval must be the same as the model mentioned in the existing test report used in the homologation process.

A Declaration of Similarity is no longer accepted in Chile. Variations of the model name is only accepted by SUBTEL if listed with the same model name in the test report (typically FCC or CE).
